CRRU - Safe Use Rodenticide
Rat and Mouse control & Safe Use Rodenticides - 24th April 2024
A one day course providing learners with an understanding of how to control rats and mice within any environment; the day concludes with the RSPH Level 2 Safe use of Rodenticides exam.
The course is aim at anyone who applies professional quantities of rodenticides – either as part of a professional service or those who complete in-house rodent control. This course is especially popular for Rodent Control on Farms.
No prior experience is required.
This qualification meets all the requirements of the CRRU Training Framework for the SGAR stewardship regime and has been approved by the CRRU Training and Certification work group.

- Principles of Rodent Control and due diligence
- Health, safety and legislation including HSE/Biocides
- Why the purchase and use of SGARs is controlled and why other rodent control methods should be considered before rodenticides are used.
- Identify and assess the performance and suitability of pest monitoring strategies and equipment. Including early detection, monitoring and product reviews;
- Rat and Mouse Biology; lifecycle; behaviour and non-chemical control options;
- Rodenticide Formulations; storage; practical application and waste management;
- Reporting systems and due diligence paperwork.
